ISTJ – Investigator/ Logistician
The younger son of a military family, Alexis has had no choice but to follow in his father’s footsteps. He applies his commitment to integrity, practical thinking, and human standards to support negotiations and protect citizens in conflict zones.
A ruthless analyst, he never takes a decision without knowing and checking all the facts. When a situation needs rapid and practical decisions, his military background encourages him to take the lead. As one of them went missing, magicians from the Meeting of the Eight turned to him for guidance. Alexis organised a plan of action on the spot to locate the missing magician. However, the Shadow and Helena often disrupt his logical approach. Over time, Alexis learned to tolerate changes of plan and delays suggested by his daughter. He’s got little patience for anyone else, though.
He finds it difficult to talk to non-magicians. As a result, his conversations with those who don’t understand magic can be a little blunt and insensitive, despite his best efforts. However, that doesn’t mean he isn’t considerate. Alexis shows his thoughtfulness through his actions. As he realised that Rhode had no Shadow, he personally trained her to face magicians, showing her how to defend herself.
He has a unique bond with his Shadow, trusting the Shadow as a friend rather than a magical tool. This bond is unnatural among magicians. Helena was central to the development of their loyalty and trust for each other. While Alexis can get frustrated with the Shadow at times, their partnership is nevertheless built on respect for their mutual differences. They work well together, both on the battle ground and at the planning table.
He is typically found drawing maps with a quill. His reliable senses of organisation and orientation make him an asset in a foreign land.

ENFP – Champion/ Campaigner
Despite the accident at the Shadow ceremony that almost cost her her life, Helena remains in the face of adversity an openhearted and outgoing extraverted personality. Needless to say, hiding in the mountain for the major part of her post-ceremony life was never suited for her free-spirited attitude. Helena has an upbeat approach to life that absolutely nothing can shake.
However, her lack of Shadow and magical skills as a magician’s daughter freaks out her peers. She seeks a meaningful and sociable lifestyle. Unfortunately, her habit of eavesdropping magical Shadows’ conversations make it hard for others to appreciate her otherwise delightful personality.
Through her connection to the spirit world, Helena often gets to hear or see magical events connected to the past or the future. While her insightful visions may lack some clarity or context, Shadows know to respect her clairvoyant skills. People, on the other hand, frequently feel unsure about her. She can appear emotionally detached in a crisis, but don’t let it fool you. Helena’s conscience is always a few steps ahead.
Helena beams with enthusiasm and optimism even in the face of adversity. Unlike her magician friends, she has no mean of defence in a battle. But she believes nonetheless than events will turn out ok for her and her loved ones. Things would often take a turn for the worse if she she were not surrounded by practical and quick-thinking friends and Shadows. She is known to have joined a magicians’ fight armed with nothing but an oversized saucepan.

ESFP – Performer/ Entertainer
Extraverted, extravagant, and seeking attenti0n in everything he does, the Shadow has dedicated his entire existence to having fun. Ultimately, as he explains it himself, the worse is already behind him. He already died a long time ago as a Dynamis magician, so he can fully relax and enjoy the day. His exuberant personality sometimes conflicts with the one of his current master, Alexis. But when they see eye to eye, he can virtually move mountains with Alexis… or, for lack of mountains, blast the entire wall of a palace.
The Shadow has no memory of his past, but he doesn’t let it affect his mood. On the contrary, he loves to show off his skills and creativity, putting himself sometimes at risk for the sake of showmanship. He once promised he could infiltrate a magical prison as if it were child play. Spoiler alert: it wasn’t.
Far from making him bitter, his long existence as a magical entity has exposed him to a variety of people. He keeps a fondness for all kind of individuals. He is especially attracted to novelties and unusual oddities. He has a special place in his heart for his master’s daughter, Helena. She inspired him to step out of the master and Shadow relationship and serve Alexis as a friend.
He has a practical mindset and is quick to spot small changes in magic. He’s very observant when it comes to his fellow Shadows and magicians, which makes him a talented illusion caster.
Unfortunately, without entertaining tasks to perform, he gets easily bored. Meeting Rhode has provided him with a new focus. He didn’t hesitate to enter her mind to satisfy his curiosity. But, for from being a source of problems, his bold and insensitive intrusion helped bring them closer and understand each other. He died young, so their small age gap convinced him to treat Rhode as an equal rather than a child.

ISFJ – Defender
Introverted and reserved by nature, Elpis has become even more recluse after the accident in Agrinion. She lives alone, outside of Olbia.
It is hard to believe without knowing her, but Elpis is a sociable person who is always willing to help and protect others. Her life has unfortunately taken a turn for the worse after Rhode’s brother was killed. So, only close friends who remained by her side know of her generosity, kindness, and altruism.
Elpis relies on her strong practical creativity to manoeuvre her life as a blind magician. She doesn’t let her lack of sight become an obstacle in her day-to-day life. Even though she tends to rarely wander outside, she showed she could easily get the upper hand if she were attacked inside her home.
Elpis still blames herself for the death in Agrinion. It is fair to say that there has not been a day since where she hasn’t felt guilty about it. She even welcomed Rhode’s intrusion, hoping to finally receive her punishment after many years of torturing herself. Thankfully, the Shadow was quick to interrupt the confrontation.
Elpis’s guilt deprived her of a sense of purpose. She labelled herself a killer, and nothing had been able to convince her otherwise. But in the end her observation skills, practical sense, and desire to help others could save her from the pool of self-loathing in which she drowns.
