We’re really excited about this because Seattle is one of the few places we’ve been to in the United States, so this feels particularly emotional to us. Admittedly, there are plenty of other independent bookstores all around the country where you can find and buy our book. This one is one that we personally visited a few years ago.
Wait – Why Aren’t They Any Reviews?
The Dead Shadow has been released on the same day in the UK and in the US. However, as we are a pair of independent authors from the UK, our voices have been heard mostly in the UK so far.
We would love for our lovely US readers to leave reviews and help us spread the word. We’ve done a podcast in the US, but we know that the word of mouth of our American readers will always be stronger. So, we ask you kindly to help us make more noise about our neurodivergent-coded, Pratchett-esk fantasy.
Nevertheless, there are some reviews available on Goodreads if you want to make sure whether this is going to be your thing or not.
As a general rule of thumb, if you love a good epic fantasy with humour, if you’re a Pratchett fan, or you miss the smugness of Barytimaeus the djinn from the Bartimaeus Trilogy, this is going to be your type of read.
Bonus point if you are neurodivergent. We’ve received some particularly positive feedback from our ADHD and autistic readers who felt represented and seen without us needing to spell it out. Ultimately, we created a world in which we felt safe, so we are over the moon if others do too.
